Who we serve · Expats

US tax returns filed from anywhere

US citizens and green-card holders living abroad still file to the IRS. The exclusion, the credits and the account reporting decide whether that return is a formality or a fine.

Structural risks

Where expat returns go wrong

  • 01FEIE versus the foreign tax credit

The exclusion is not always better. In a high-tax country the credit usually wins — and once you elect 2555, revoking it locks you out for five years.

  • 02The $10,000 is a total, not a per-account limit

FBAR looks at the aggregate peak balance across every foreign account, including accounts you only have signature authority over. Form 8938 is a separate, different test.

  • 03The year you move

A part-year residence split changes filing status, standard deduction, treaty positions and which account tests apply in each half of the year.

Filings we own

The expat return, end to end

Income, exclusion, credits and account disclosure, prepared together so one does not contradict another.
